Assistant Nurse at BUP Stockholm Emergency Unit

Do you want to make a significant contribution during the relatively short but meaningful time a patient and their relatives spend at BUP Stockholm's emergency unit? BUP Emergency Unit, located near Södersjukhuset in Södermalm, is looking for an assistant nurse for day and evening shifts.

BUP Stockholm Acute and Inpatient Care Section consists of an emergency unit and three units providing inpatient care. Two of the inpatient care units and the emergency unit are located in Södermalm, and one inpatient care unit is located at S:t Göran's hospital area in Kungsholmen.

Children and adolescents with various acute psychiatric disorders and conditions come to the BUP emergency unit. We who receive them are caregivers, assistant nurses, nurses, and doctors who work together to provide patients with the best possible assessment and care.

Job Responsibilities

The work as an assistant nurse primarily involves meeting children/adolescents and their families in reception and care work at a child psychiatric emergency unit. As an assistant nurse, you conduct individual emergency conversations to gather information and other parameters for patient triage. You also participate in patient assessments together with doctors. There are high demands for reporting and documentation at the unit, which is why you need to be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

Qualifications

You who apply should have a degree as an assistant nurse and a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding protected professional title. Please attach these documents. You should also have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Previous experience working with children and youth and/or experience in psychiatric inpatient care is an advantage.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Day shifts are from 07:30 to 16:30 and evening shifts are from 12:00 to 20:30. You will work two weekends out of five.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Stockholm (BUP) offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents under 18 years old within the Stockholm County.
